Looks like the government has been shamed to act…
So, do we have a breakthrough or is it a façade?
The meeting of team Anna and the government has two versions…
A version of government and one of team Anna!
Team Anna says that in the meeting, the government has agreed to most of the provisions of Jan Lokpal bill except: (1) inclusion of lower bureaucracy, (2) appointment of Lokayuktas in the states and (3) instituting citizen’s charter – in the meeting, team Anna has been given to believe that rest of the provisions of Jan Lokpal is acceptable to the government! Not that these three provisions are not important – they certainly are!
However, very interestingly the government’s version of the meeting with team Anna is curt as usual – the statement just said the meeting was good and government will make its stand clear by morning!
So, is it a breakthrough or is it another façade the government is building?
Or am I running high on cynical juices! ☺
